Upgrading from LeasePak 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, or 7.3 to the latest version

Note Level 1 For users upgrading from LeasePak version 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, or 7.3 to LeasePak version 7.6a.

Note Level 2 If you are upgrading from a version prior to 7.0, contact your NetSol representative for instructions appropriate to your starting version.

Note Level 2 If you are upgrading from version 7.3, skip section A below.

Note Level 1 LeasePak versions 7.0 through 7.3 run on RHEL6 (minimum 6.8) and Oracle 12cR2 or Sybase 16.0. LeasePak versions 7.4 and greater run on RHEL7 (minimum 7.7) and Oracle 19c or Sybase 16.0 SP04.

A. First upgrade from LeasePak version 7.0, 7.1, or 7.2 to LeasePak 7.3:

Note Level 2 In order to upgrade to LeasePak version 7.6a, you must first temporarily upgrade to 7.4. And in order to temporarily upgrade to to 7.4, you must first temporarily upgrade to 7.3.

  1. Follow the instructions in the Upgrade and Conversion section of the 7.3 SAG to install the LeasePak 7.3 server software on your current RHEL6 application server, upgrade your environments to LeasePak 7.3, and convert your databases to LeasePak 7.3. Skip the "Post Conversion Procedures" section in the Upgrade and Conversion section of the 7.3 SAG.

Note Level 2 Do not perform the "Post Conversion Procedures" in the Upgrade and Conversion section of the 7.3 SAG.

  2. Snapshot your LeasePak 7.3 databases using the db_snapshot script.
  3. Continue with step B below.

B. Upgrade from LeasePak 7.3 to LeasePak 7.4:

Note Level 1 The below steps 1 through 5 reference tasks detailed in the LeasePak Server Configuration and Maintenance section of the 7.4 SAG. Refer to that section of the 7.4 SAG for more information.

  1. Install LeasePak 7.4 on the new RHEL7 application server.
  2. Create a new LeasePak 7.4 environment by running the setup_new_env command on the RHEL7 application server.
  3. Create a new LeasePak 7.4 database by running the db_create command on the RHEL7 application server.
  4. Copy the 7.3 snapshot dataset from the RHEL6 application server to the RHEL7 application server.
  5. Load the LeasePak 7.3 dataset into the LeasePak 7.4 environment by running the db_restore command on the RHEL7 application server.

Note Level 1 A 7.3 dataset can be loaded into a 7.4 environment because LeasePak 7.3 databases have the same structure (table and column definitions) as LeasePak 7.4 databases.

  6. Run the database conversion script to convert the 7.3 database (which has been loaded into the 7.4 environment) to 7.4. This is required because, even though there were no structural database changes between 7.3 and 7.4, there may have been data changes. For instructions on running the database conversion script, refer to the "Database Conversion" sub-section of the Upgrade and Conversion section of the 7.4 SAG.

Note Level 2 Only perform the tasks listed in the "Database Conversion" sub-section. Do NOT perform the tasks listed in the other sub-sections. For example, do not perform the tasks listed in the "Environment Upgrade" sub-section or in the "Post Conversion Procedures" sub-section.

  7. Continue with step C below.

C. Upgrade from LeasePak 7.4 to latest version:

  1. Upgrade from LeasePak 7.4 to the latest version by following the instructions in Upgrading from LeasePak 7.4 or greater to the latest version
