Oracle Alert Log
The Oracle alert log is an XML file on the DBMS host containing a chronological log of database messages and critical errors. For backwards compatibility, Oracle also maintains the alert log information in a non-XML file.
File type Path of alert log on DBMS host XML $ORACLE_BASE/diag/rdbms/CDB-name/instance-name/alert/log.xmlnon-XML $ORACLE_BASE/diag/rdbms/CDB-name/instance-name/trace/alert_CDB-name.log
Periodically review the Oracle alert log to check for critical messages and errors that may require
administrative action.
