Navigating within a Document

Welcome to the LeasePak UX Reference Guide

Introduction

Note: All button examples are active links. If you get lost, use the browser's Back button or use the blue button to get back to this document.

The Reference Guide home page (index.html) which is the first page the user sees when opening the Reference Guide, contains the Table of Contents.

At the top of the Table of Contents (and at various points throughout the document) the user will see the group of buttons displayed above. These buttons allow the user to navigate through the document. Clicking on one of these buttons will move the user to either that area of the Table of Contents or, in some cases, to the actual document.

Placing the mouse pointer over a button without clinking on it will let the user see which location or document the button is linked to.

The button links the user to the Menu Structure document. This document lists all LeasePak UX menu items and is fully linked to the documents for those items, so the user can use this document to jump to specific Update and Report documents. Menu Structure does not, however, include links to the general reference documents or the End of Period updates that do not appear on the LeasePak menu.

The LeasePak UX Reference Guide Table of Contents includes the following sections:

What's New in LeasePak UX
This document lists new functionality included in the current release. The document will consist of enhancements performed to the:
- Base System (if any)
- Existing Modules (if any)
- New modules (if any)
LeasePak Module listing
This document will list a general overview of all LeasePak UX modules including; Base System, JULE Fund and Optional Modules.
Getting Around in LeasePak
This document familiarizes the user with basic LeasePak functions. Some of these include: signing on/off, navigating through LeasePak, shortcuts, running reports etc.
Calculations
This document displays general LeasePak calculation information.
General Ledger Accounting
This document lists information pertaining to LeasePak's General Ledger
Depreciation
This document list all of LeasePak's depreciation methods and their functions within LeasePak
Reference Documents
These are additional reference documents that pertain to LeasePak. Some of these include LeasePak Interface(s) information, Status Code listings, Tax Considerations, and Maximum Array Sizes.
Updates
This section lists all updates included in LeasePak UX and their functions.
Reports
This section lists all reports included in LeasePak UX and their functions.

Finding a Document in the Table of Contents

The navigation buttons in the Table of Contents will assist in navigating through LeasePak's updates, reports, and reference documents within the Table of Contents. For example if you are looking for information regarding payoff methods in Calculations, the search can be made in various ways:

Using the scroll bar.

Selecting the button at the top of the Table of Contents. This will jump down to the Calculations section of the Table of Contents.
- Calculations
  From this point, one of two choices can be made:

Click on the Calculations link. This option will jump to the Calculations document. Within the Calculations document, another content list allows the user to select the Payoff Methods section within the document.
Click on Payoff Methods section link from the Table of Contents. This option will jump directly to the Payoff Method section of the Calculations document.

Note: occasionally the browser will not position the link target at the top of the display. If you click on a link that does not seem to take you to the right location, scroll down with the scroll bar to bring up your desired location. If the link has taken you somewhere completely off-target, please contact your MSI Product Support Representative.

Using Find (Ctrl-F). Entering payoff into the text box and clicking Find Next will find the next occurrence of the work payoff in the Table of Contents.

Navigating within a Document

Many of the longer Reference Guide documents are broken down into various sections. These longer documents contain internal navigation tools to aid the user in searching for the desired information. An example of a large document is Book Lease [U0101].

Opening the Book Lease [U0101] document, the user will notice the Content list at the top (an excerpt is displayed above). This list can be used to link to a specific topic or screen illustration within the document.

If the user wishes to view information regarding a specific screen in Book Lease [U0101], they will notice that each screen is preceded by its own set of navigation buttons. This allows the user to jump from screen to screen, making finding the right screen easier.

Below the line, the set of buttons includes those used to navigate within the selected document.

Above the line, these sets of buttons include , a link back to the main Reference Guide Table of Contents; , which links to this help document; and , a link to the top of the current document (note that clicking on the button here will take the user to the top of the help document).

For documents that belong to a larger family, such as Book Lease belonging to the New Lease [U0101] family, a button to link back to the family's main document will also be found above the line. In this case, there is a button to the main document.
