In addition to the reports, updates, and special functions available through LeasePak’s menu screens, additional options are available to authorized users with access to the UNIX operating system. Most of these options perform tasks not required in the normal operation of LeasePak. In general, they should be used only upon the advice of your MSI representative.
To execute these additional options, log on to the UNIX account or other account in the same group as LeasePak with access to the operating system. At the dollar sign ($) prompt, enter the command:
$ leasepak
A list of available options and a prompt for input are displayed:

The following sections describe each additional option and its use.

This option executes the main LeasePak program. It is the same as executing LeasePak through a captive account (i.e., an account which executes LeasePak only and has no access to the operating system) with the following exceptions:
/Utilities
LeasePak /UTILITIES executes privileged functions. These functions are not required for the normal operation of LeasePak. However, circumstances may arise which require their use.
Following is a list of the functions available through this option:
0 Exit
108 Add User Security RecordThis utility option is an MSI Customer Services tool used in the initial client account setup. This utility should be used only upon the advice of your MSI representative. IMPROPER USE MAY DAMAGE THE DATABASE.
109 Dump Contents Of Linked-In MapsThis utility option is an MSI Customer Services tool to examine the information contained in storage areas linked directly into the executable image of LeasePak. This utility should be used only upon the advice of your MSI representative.
111 Copy Batch Payment and PAP Files into SybaseThis utility option copies the Batch Payment and Pre-Authorized Payment files into the Sybase tables. This utility should be used only upon the advice of your MSI representative. IMPROPER USE MAY DAMAGE THE DATABASE.
112 Unix/SQL Server Password TranslationThis utility option translates the encrypted Unix and Sql passwords for each user. This utility should be used only upon the advice of your MSI representative. IMPROPER USE MAY DAMAGE THE DATABASE.
200 Lock/Unlock UpdatesThis utility option locks or unlocks updates for a specific portfolio. This utility should be used only upon the advice of your MSI representative. IMPROPER USE MAY DAMAGE THE DATABASE.
Use this option only to unlock updates if End of Period was accidentally submitted, or if End of Period was submitted but never released and it has been determined that this End of Period should not execute. This option should not be used by the client to LOCK updates without MSI assistance.
202 View/Update DSV
207 DAS UpdateThis utility option is an MSI Customer Services tool used in the initial client account setup to initialize the internal calendar used by LeasePak for various processes such as accruals and invoicing. This utility should be used only upon the advice of your MSI representative. IMPROPER USE MAY DAMAGE THE DATABASE.
This utility option uses an input file to perform batch Change Lease Key updates. This utility is used with electronic data conversions or securitizations. For more information contact your MSI representative.
213 Initialize Multi-Process Lease RangesThis utility option may be used for clients who have an End of Period multi-process count greater than one (1). This utility determines the lease numbers for the count, which is stored on the Portfolio (DPA) file, and stores these numbers on the End of Period (DAS) file.
214 Print EOP File DependenciesThis utility option is an MSI Development and Customer Services tool. It creates a report of dependencies of EOP modules, listing file I/O conflicts between modules.
215 Set-Up EOP ModuleThis utility option is an MSI Development and Customer Services tool. It updates the End of Period (DEP) file for a given portfolio and EOP module so that the selected module can be executed individually in debug mode.
216 DLC File CreateThis utility option is an MSI Development and Customer Services tool. It creates a "physical" DLC file for a client based on the linked in LeasePak code in the current LeasePak image. Starting in LeasePak 4.5b, LeasePak codes are no longer read-off from a DLC file but are rather stored as a permanent memory structure with each LEASPAK deliverable image. Therefore, note that the purpose of this utility is not for the update of LeasePak code values stored in memory but is for the production of a "physical" file containing these values (making the code values available for users to use in other LeasePak external routines).
This utility option works in conjunction with the Non-Monetary Archive Report [R0413]. This function will allow all non-monetary changes to be extracted by date first. LeasePak will display the information based on lease number and all records on or before the extract date entered in the lease/util option. Certain non-monetary fields will be displayed in the report after the user has performed all the necessary changes to the lease.
