LeasePak Client

Lists system requirements for installing the LeasePak client.

This document lists client computer requirements only. For the appropriate server requirements (which also include the client requirements, refer to System Requirements (Table of Contents).

Hardware

See next section for disk space requirements.

• Machine: Intel x86 computer
• Memory:

         - Windows 2000 or Windows NT: 384 MB RAM minimum

         - Windows 2003 or Windows XP: 512 MB RAM minimum

         - Add 128 MB if using LeasePak and Microsoft Office concurrently

         - Add 256 MB if using LeasePak, Office, and other applications concurrently

• Display: minimum SVGA or equivalent, resolution 1024 x 768 or higher
• Network Card: ethernet, token ring, etc.
• CD-ROM: (Optional) to access the LeasePak client software or the LeasePak Documentation Suite for installation. You can also place files in an accessible network location.

Disk Space

Breakdown of LeasePak Client Disk Space Requirements: Total 50-125 MB (approximate)

15 MB	Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC; for FormPak or EOP Monitor users)
10 MB	Open Database Connectivity (ODBC: for FormPak or EOP Monitor users)
50 MB	LeasePak client program files

Operating System

Software:

• Windows NT Workstation 4.0, SP6a or above
• Windows 2000, SP4 or above
• Windows 2003, SP2 or above
• Windows XP Professional, SP2 or above

Patches:

Install all critical Windows service packs, patches, and updates.

Database Client Software

Starting with LeasePak version 6.1a, Database Client Software is no longer required.

LeasePak Client

• Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or above.
• Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable package.
  
• (Optional) Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC), for FormPak or EOP Monitor users
• (Optional) Open Database Connectivity (ODBC), for FormPak or EOP Monitor users
• LeasePak 6.1a client software

LeasePak supports all installation options for Microsoft Office 97 through Office 2000.

Web Browser

Web browsers must have client-side JavaScript enabled.

LeasePak requires one of the following Web browsers:

• Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later
• Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or later
• Netscape Navigator 7.0 or later (NetSol recommends version 8.0)

The browser must also include the following:

• Adobe Acrobat Reader 6.0 or later

Web browsers must have client-side JavaScript enabled.

Remote Client

If you have employees using LeasePak or mPower remotely, or you wish for NetSol representatives to connect to your server, you will need a fast, secure connection between the remote client computer and the LeasePak or mPower server. For this purpose, NetSol recommends any of the following solutions:

• Citrix (Citrix Systems, Inc.)
• Remote Access Server--RAS (generic secure network access via a dial-up connection)
• Remote Desktop (Working Remotely with Windows XP)
• Tarantella (Tarantella, Incorporated--A Disivion of Sun Microsystems)
• Virtual Private Network--VPN (generic secure network access via the Internet)

Printers

For use with DocIT, LeasePak, or mPower, printers must be:

• Accessible to the DocIT server, LeasePak client users, LeasePak server processes, and/or mPower client users by way of a network or direct connection.
• Capable of printing 132 columns (equivalent to 132 monospaced characters and/or spaces) in landscape mode.
• Able to print Adobe Acrobat PDF and Microsoft Word documents.
• (Optional) capable of color printing for HTML-type reports or other multicolor documents.
