LeasePak
System Requirements
LeasePak supports both Oracle and Sybase DBMS servers,
running on one of the following three platforms:
- Hardware: any HP 9000 800 series server
- Network card: ethernet, token ring, etc.
- Operating System: HP-UX 11.00, 64-bit environment with the following patches:
- General Release Patches, November 1999 (ACE) XSWGR1100 B.11.00.47.08
- HP-UX Hardware Enablement and Critical Patches, June 2000 XSWHWCR1100 B.11.00.49.3
- DBMS Server: one of the following:
- LeasePak Server Software: LeasePak version for HP
- Additional Software: Sector7 version 3.1.7 runtime license (provided with the LeasePak server software)
MSI recommends that the server have a
local CD-ROM drive for installing the LeasePak server software. Using a drive accessible over a network may convert
portions of the various installation directory paths to lowercase, which will cause the installation to fail.
LeasePak does not support the HP-UX trusted (shadow password) system.
- Hardware: any Intel x86 computer with minimum 512 MB RAM (1024 MB recommended)
- Network card: ethernet, token ring, etc.
- Operating System: Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2 or higher.
For LeasePak installation, a minimal operating system installation
with the "Network" package is sufficient
- DBMS Server: one of the following:
Oracle:
Coming soon.
|
Sybase:
Adaptive Server Enterprise version 12.5.0.3 (EBF 10696)
|
- LeasePak Server Software: LeasePak version for Linux
- Additional Software: Sector7 version 3.1.8 runtime license (provided with the LeasePak server software)
MSI recommends that the server have a
local CD-ROM drive for installing the LeasePak server software. Using a drive accessible over a network may convert
portions of the various installation directory paths to lowercase, which will cause the installation to fail.
- Hardware: either the Sun Enterprise 450 or higher (for large scale
installations) or the Sun Fire V120 (for small scale installations)
- Network card: ethernet, token ring, etc.
- Operating System: Sun Solaris 8, 64-bit environment with the
following patch cluster:
- DBMS Server: one of the following:
- LeasePak Server Software: LeasePak version for Sun
- Additional Software: Sector7 version 3.1.6 runtime license (provided with the LeasePak server software)
MSI recommends that the server have a
local CD-ROM drive for installing the LeasePak server software. Using a drive accessible over a network may convert
portions of the various installation directory paths to lowercase, which will cause the installation to fail.
These are the minimum disk space requirements for the LeasePak server on all platforms:
- 1400 MB for LeasePak server program files
- 300 MB for Sector7 program files
- 200 MB in the /home partition (or higher for large numbers of LeasePak users)
- 1200 MB in the /tmp partition (or higher depending on needs)
HP: note the size of the swap partition--you
will need this information to configure the swapchunks kernel parameter.
- DBMS Disk Space Requirements:
Sector7 DCL commands (job and print queue management), as well as lease/util utilities,
all require Sector7 terminal emulation, which includes emulation of the following terminal types:
Type | Example |
VT1xx | DEC VT100 |
VT2xx | DEC VT200 |
VT3xx | DEC VT300 |
VT4xx | DEC VT400 |
ANSI | SCO ANSO Console |
AT386 | Unix 5.4 Console |
WY60 | Wyse 60 |
XTERM | X Terminals |
MSI recommends terminal emulators capable of displaying 132 columns for best results and prefers the use of VT type terminals.
Set the TERM environment variable to one of the above terminal types before using Sector7 DCL commands
or lease/util utilities. Use echo $TERM to verify the terminal type.
Sun: on most telnet sessions,
the default terminal emulator is sun.
If you need MSI to verify your server platform and configuration, you must allow us to connect to your server.
This can be through either a modem or internet connection. For internet connections, we must have access through
your firewall (if any).
These are the minimum requirements:
- 64 MB RAM (128 MB recommended)
- SVGA display or higher, minimum resolution 800 x 600
- Network connection to the LeasePak server (ethernet, token ring, etc.)
- Optional: CD-ROM drive for LeasePak client software and
documentation (you can also set this up over your network)
LeasePak client requires one of the following:
- Windows 98 (install all critical updates)
- Windows NT Workstation 4.0 (install all critical updates)
- Windows 2000 (install all critical updates)
- Windows XP Professional (install all critical updates)
- DBMS Client: one of the following:
Oracle:
Coming soon.
|
Sybase:
Sybase Open Client 12.5
|
- Optional: client access to the LeasePak Reference Guide, System Administration Guide, and
other publications in the Documentation Suite requires one of the following browsers:
And the following:
- Adobe Acrobat Reader, version 5.0 or later (for Release Notes and other documents in PDF format).
LeasePak supports all installation options for Microsoft Office 97 through Office 2000.
Remote client users include employees working from home or on the road, etc., and MSI representatives providing direct support.
The remote client requires one of the following:
- a 28.8 Kbps or faster modem and PC Anywhere 7.2 or higher
- an RAS connection to a Windows NT server at your site connected to a 28.8 Kbps or faster modem
- an SLIP, PPP, or GR Internet connection to the LeasePak server with access through the firewall (if any)
to ports 1025 and
- VPN access to the LeasePak server
- a connection to the Internet, ActiveX web browsing enabled, and one person to attend a WebEx meeting
Printers for LeasePak report output must be able to print 132 columns in landscape mode.
