New Lease [U0101]: Delete Asset

This update is part of the New Lease [U0101] group of updates. For an introduction to New Lease and links to all the New Lease documents, refer to New Lease [U0101].

Delete Asset is an option of the New Lease update, which can be accessed through the main LeasePak Updates menu, New Lease option, or by entering U0101 into Fast Menu <F2>.

The Delete Asset option can be used to delete an asset that has been added to inventory but never attached to a lease or had accounts payable disbursed. The intention of this update is to remove assets added in error. No audit report is produced for the Delete Asset option.

To dispose of an asset in inventory that has been attached to a lease or has had its payables disbursed, use the Sale of Asset in Inventory option of the Payoff update [U0103].

If an asset is attached to a note payable, a warning message will be displayed. If the user decided to delete the asset anyway, the reference to this asset will be removed from the note payable record, and the status of the note payable will be changed to Unattached.

This screen is used to specify the asset to be deleted.

This screen displays information associated with the selected asset. Verify that this is the asset to be deleted. Note that two fields, LIST PRICE and YEAR, appear only for vehicle assets (i.e., CLASS code starts with V).
